I went out with a friend to the Coast Range for a bow hunt on the first day of the Deer season. I was along as a spotter to see how it all worked and then decide it I wanted to invest in another hobby. Bows are not cheap!
Did not see any critters but had a great time walking the logging roads and seeing the sights. Lots of deer/elk and bear sign. We did see a gut pile where a bear had been skinned out.
Looks like a lot of fun but walking does not cut it. Need to sit in a treestand or blind and keep quiet on a nice trail or water hole if you want to bag your game.
I may be spending some money for the archery equipment soon. My friend has a Martin package, 50lb bow and it is a joy to shoot. What do you recomend as a good buy??
I think he spent between $400-500 to get started. Included arrows, sights, trigger, bow and setup.
