I currently have 4 M70's, two CRF Classic Stainless, one in .270 (best trigger and most accurate of the bunch) and the other in .338 Win Mag. The .338 has the BOSS system, and carries like it's about 12 feet long? 20 years ago I went to a local gunsmith to get it bobbed off, and he convinced me to let him make a thread protector and keep the threads for the BOSS system. He did a great job, you have to look real hard to see the joint. I have killed a few elk with this one, all at ridiculously close range with a 1.5x5 VXIII mounted on top in Leupold QR rings, and I have a 3.5x10 VXIII in QR rings that I can run on it for longer distances. But the two CRF Featherweights are my favorites... a blue 7-08 with real nice wood (Nikon), and my favorite, a 6.5x55 Swede, with real bland wood (2.5x8 Leupold). My daughter carries the Swede now, but it still sits in my safe! IMG_5078.jpg

Very nice. I'm a fan for sure. Your smith did good!!

Here's our brand new Super Grade in 7mm-08 sporting a Zeiss Conquest V6 5-30x50 and a Timney trigger. The last pic shows a 4 shot group at 100 yards using 140 grain Winchester Ballistic Silver Tips during the sighting in process. Point of aim was at the 06:30 point on the black dot. We've since confirmed this level of accuracy with 120 and 140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips. We are extremely pleased with this rifle to say the least.

I love it, not sure I could sell either of these. I bought the lightweight in 1985 when I was stationed in California. The .338 is just alot if gun but I am planning on an idaho elk hunt with it this year.

Its an eye opener how fast the 338wm will put an elk down. My hunting partner and i use our 338wm's for elk hunting almost religiously. Youll like how it performs.

Beat-up, skinned-up .308 that I bought at a gun show for $250 many years ago. Made in 1976. The reason I still have it is because it's a tack-driver. Sometimes you have a junky-looking piece that happens to shoot well. This is one such.
