While I believe that will never happen here (the logistics of such an action would make it impossible, coupled with the inevitable resistance all across the country), it certainly would be interesting to see them try, even though the constitution prevents such a thing (thank goodness for those incredible men that wrote those documents).

I don't think they really comprehend the depth of belief people in this country have for the 2nd, and how hard many would fight such an action. It would make the Bundy Ranch incident look like a backyard barbecue.

I suspect many don't want to be the first to fight back, but once someone does, and word spreads, I suspect quiet Patriots would start coming from everywhere.

But I like your thinking. Don't send someone else to do it, come and take it yourself. Show us how committed you are to taking the rights away from others.

The ratio for confiscation would be high for every gun that was attempted to be confiscated at least 2-5 would fall in the process. They know it as well and is why they really want to bully people into confiscation not physically do it. And the better one is trained and fortified the hard it becomes.

The guy who wrote this article is a teacher, has been for 41 years. He says: "A campus should be peaceful and peace-loving, and they should be places where arguments are made and defended rationally, with evidence."

Interesting. I agree. A campus should be a peaceful place for learning and studying. I also agree that arguments should be made and defended rationally, with evidence. But....

Mr. 41 Years a Teacher commits a lot of fallacies in his own opinion piece. He sights evidence and studies that have already been discounted, even discredited, in defense of his position. Then he goes on to base most of his argument on feelings and opinions. THAT is not how you discuss things rationally, with evidence.

This guy is part of the problem. He gets a platform, like CNN, to shout his uninformed opinions to the pliable, uniformed masses. And they listen. And they vote. And this, my friends, is what your public tax money is paying for. And this is what your kids are getting when you put them in schools funded with that tax money.

At no point during his tirade does he even address the rights of people to own guns. Rather, he comes up with his own version of a solution that is based on.....nothing. There is no utopian society, with similar restrictions as he notes, that can be used as a case study that such restrictions will work. He makes the argument that without guns, suicides will decline because it's "It's harder to kill yourself with a knife or razor blade", then cites studies that have shown this "again and again". There are actually recent studies that say the opposite. That if you remove guns, the same number of people will still commit suicide, they'll just use another method. And while using a razor may be more difficult, overdosing on pills or sitting in a car with the engine running and a hose from the tailpipe run into the compartment are not only very easy, but also remarkably effective.

He even goes on to compliment the father of the UCC shooter for wondering how his son "got that arsenal". Really? That's how you address the father that did nothing to prevent his son from becoming a cold blooded killer? The man that abandoned him? Really?

I would love to sit down and chat with this blowhard. He is an idiot and CNN are idiots for even giving him a place to spew this anti-American nonsense. And yes, it is anti-American. Remember when that actually meant something?

He had better hope, for his sake, that some crazed psycho doesn't show up at this peaceful school where people only know books and quiet socialist indoctrination.

If he were in school himself and submitted a piece like that, he would get an F.
