My first AR (Colt) bought while stationed in Germany in '87 (or so), and it remains the same today as day one, 29 years later more or less as the Stoner-god intended it to be... clean & simple, but it'll simply kill you... really dead. o_O

I owned one WAY before it was "mainstream cool" to own one. :D

Ok, I'll play: smith and Wesson lower built up with a no-name kit from Sarco, Surefire M500 fore end light with LED lamp, stipled grip, RRA national match trigger and a bungee sling. Shoots like a dream. It's my favorite... Or it was, up until it was tragically lost in a boating accident

I bought the same gun in 1989 when I was stationed in Germany.

Now my simple light AR is not an AR.
It's the bast--d step child of an AK-47 and a AR-15. ;)
