Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.....

Let's resolve to fight every piece of anti-gun legislation introduced in the 2019 Legislative session.

I don't think this one is so much "anti-gun" and more "anti-gun owners". But yeah, this needs to stop. Now.

Oh, and the article cited 14 teens that commited suicide with unsecured firearms. Not to sound heartless (which I pretty much am), but 14? Out of over 4 million Oregon residents? Those statistics DEFINITELY need a new law.

Look careful, this is part of the Oregon Firearms Safety Act, much more then this little tid bit.....

( I know I said prior I won't give any more legislative warning, I am just confirming what was previously said )

This will open up another stream of revenue for ambulance chasing lawyers who will happily pursue a civil case against any homeowner whose stolen firearm was criminally used in the harm of another.

I can't. It's just not possible.

Yeah, I guess that is true. Just look at all the time they spent doing non-anti-gun stuff in the 2018 legislature

Exactly.

I'm nearly speechless... naw, just kidding.

"so far, Oregon has failed to put into effect any law that would have prevented that shooting." Umm, isn't murder already illegal? Why is it that so called "gun safety laws" are always aimed at previously law-abiding citizens? Hmmm, let's develop a new class of criminal just like we did during good ol prohibition days!

Storing firearms when not in use

§ When a firearm is not on someone's person, the individual must secure it with a lock or in a locked container. Failing to secure a firearm would not be a crime; the consequence would be an offense – similar to a speeding ticket. A person who does not properly secure a firearm could receive a fine of up to $500.

And who's going to come looking? A speeder is out in public... unless I'm taking too many No-Doze.

Securing firearms during transfer to another person

§ A person must lock a firearm or lock the firearm in a container when delivering the firearm to another person. A person who transfers an unsecured firearm could receive a fine of up to $500.

Ok, I'm really baffled now!!! What problem/risk does this solve???????? Or are they just making up sh!t because they can??? Is this part of the gun show loopyhole thang? So, my local gunshop has to lock up the firearm before I can take possession? Because I might load it and go on a shooting spree right there and then?

I say again, if somebody wants to kill themselves, then they should be allowed. We don't need any more drama llamas around anyway! ;)

Yawn, SO STUPID! This will accomplish exactly NOTHING, but waste time, energy, and resources that we all know could be put to far better use elsewhere, Like I Don't Know,...................................Get the phucking gill netters out of the Columbia River, Enforce the Fisheries limits on the Tribal entitlements, Fire the Fish and Game and get some real Actual biologists to take over and actually manage fish and game properly in a way that helps the economy and makes sense, Remove stupidity from the Fish and Game "Take" regulations like Barbless hooks, night fishing, and cross bows, And caliber reqirements for muzzle loading, and remove the stupid permits like Boating permits, ramp fee's, tributaries permit, invasive species permit, second rod permit, boaters safety permit, and all that B.S. permits, taxes and fee's they stack on top of the outrageous licence and species Permits/Harvest tags! Phuckers stick it to the sportsmen every time! And they close hatcheries, and miss use the dam system and allow the Corps of Engineers to set the rules instead of the STATE!

Yea, lets put some focus on areas of this stupid democrap run state and start fixing stupid and dangerous policy and actions before we loose a very serious natural resource! Those Orca are the cannery in the mine shaft!

As far as locking and securing a firearm while taking to another person bit, so how they going to find valid proof in this? I could just easily say im going to the range or make up some other word play that suggests im not handing it to another person or are they hoping private sales folk will stand by with integrity card checks to ensure its locked before they begin the transfer/4473/BGC?

As far as securing under lock at home, what if its secured but was found tampered to gain access or they knew how to hit a lock etc. Any civil protection on that end or would you still get slammed because it wasnt "secure"?

All this dunning-kruger effect. Its high time that if you wish to be a politician/making bills for the 2A that you at least have attended a basic fire-arms seminar with training on handling/use and a qualify with a real world scenario event hosted by people who've had to draw and use or statistics from defensive shooters/cases. Or some other form of weapons handling and knowledge base check criteria.

All im seeing is an excuse to con free money to the state in penalty/fines to catch idiots. But yes more laws more regulations more fines/fees. That'll solve the problem! Remember the names of the folks and groups pushing this.
