Lake City tracer ammo what do you think?

What do you guys think about Lake City M196 Red Tip Tracer 55 ammo. I just bought an ammo can of it. Cheapest ammo I have seen. Seems like an awsome deal. Guesss ill see how it shoots. cost $229 most retails sell it for 350+

It's good stuff, however beware as tracer ammo will start fires in a flooded rock quarry in a torrential rainstorm. Whatever you decide to shoot it at, make sure it's close enough, and that you have the tools to put out the fires when they happen. The other option is, shoot them at a target that's far enough away that they burn out (1000+yards). The thing I've found after shooting tracers is that bullets do strange things, and even if shooting into an earth bank, may bounce up, out and over a backstop.

They're cool, and a lot of fun, but be fire safe when using them.

And also be sure that shooting them is legal. Many Ranges ban them as well as State Department of Natural Resources rules prohibiting their use on DNR lands.

About the only place to use them would be on private land.

Wow I didnt know this. It will mostly be my storage ammo. Is it really that flammable? What can I set up to shoot these things.

AR500 steel gongs? Pretty indestructible. It would be funny if you couldn't zero with tracers due to igniting target paper. Would they even do that?

Staples target paper up, spritzes with spray bottle of water...
