So the problem is when you try to search for this kind of stuff, you get a *LOT* of right-wing sites repeating the same outrage.
When you time-limit the search to "older than a week ago", you get the same outrage from four years ago. (Yup, the bolts were removed in 2009, too.)
But if you go back further, you don't get the outrage. Does that mean the bolts were there for Bush and before?
No, it just means people didn't raise a stink. has a quote from a color guard from Bush's 2001 inauguration - yup, no bolts. Sorry, this is a whole lot of furor over standard procedure. People only care when it's a politician they don't like. (Sort of like how pro-Obama people completely gloss over the continuation of Bush policies on loss of personal rights that they were up in arms about when Bush was president.)
