who one votes for is their business but the individuals who think that mailing a ballot in is too difficult are the ones I don't understand. If we could get voter turn out we might have a chance but this right is often ignored and yet many who complain wont do that simple act.

With Washington and California going the way they've gone, the pressure on Oregon to follow suit is going to be enormous. Not just on guns, but on everything. The disease of the lazy intellectual is spreading. They are already slowly californicating Arizona, something I thought would never happen.

It is a shame, because the Northwest is beautiful and I would love to spend the rest of my life here. I still have a ways to go before I retire, but the property tax problem, and the rising tide of militant socialism and intolerance towards anyone who disagrees is very troubling. My wife and I will probably cash out and go somewhere else at some point.

With all these states seemingly voting for more regulations that hinder freedoms I wonder if it's a symptom of uneducated voters being taken advantage of...meaning if voters aren't up on what's happening and instead only listening to sound bites then wouldn't we see these same things in other states at some point also? I get the desire to leave as I've thought about it myself, but would this idiocy follow us? It does make me ponder.

I see a lot of defeated attitudes like "they'll just pass it through legislation." The main difference I see between the majority of gun owners and the majority of the left is that the left fights tooth and nail through lobbying, organized protest and overall public crying to get the results they want. The gun owners and guys on the right just watch it all happen through TV and the internet and talk about it. We're talking about a Constitutional right being trampled here guys...that's nothing to sit at home and watch on TV. Lawful gun owners have all but been accused of holding the gun used in every murder and mass shooting (they've accused us of that too) and they've used this as the platform for slandering us. The facts are not on their side, we just need to be more aggressive about our stance and getting the real facts out there. No that doesn't mean marching around with guns. It means winning the national debate about firearms at a psychological level and THEN legislatively. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Time to hold people accountable, not guns.

This is what they're counting on. We have to meet force with force. When I see someone say something stupid about guns, I counter their position with facts and I don't back down. I might be changing minds, I might not. But at least they'll see I'm dedicated to the cause. A murderer, a bad guy doesn't use debate and facts as their tools. Bad guys sit in the shadows. Good guys stand up and speak up.

I'm not sure why I don't get the reference, but what does KB mean?

Edit: Kate Brown? Who is she? I don't mean that literally, I just mean that Gov Brown is nobody. She is just a tiny player in Oregon and isn't even a direct player in the Bloomberg machine.
Tiny part? KB's signature is going to be on every piece of anti gun legislation that passes through the Oregon House and Senate for the next 4 years. Not to mention she is a donee of Bloomberg.

Had you ever heard of her before Kitz got in trouble? She is not a ringleader. That part is played by others in this state. Just because she supports Bill's and signs them does not mean she is the head of some kabal. She had the personality of cardboard. She just happened to be the D in line with Kitz hit the fritz. And then then she ran for reelection and she was the D on the top of the ticket.

I'm just saying she is NOT Tina Kotek or Ginny Burdick!

I'm just saying that she was at the top of the ticket for a reason and as you noted, it wasn't for her personality:)

Maybe you don't know Oregon politics, I don't know. But she just happened to be SecState (a nothing job where any D can win) when Kitz stepped down. Then, when she decided to actually run for a term on her own, every other D just stepped aside because at least Brown is a solid progressive vote. There is no way she would win a D primary if next to real personalities and leaders. She is not an anti gun ringleader, just a cog in the machine. She just happens to have the pen to sign the bills. That doesn't make her anything special in the movement.

I guess it's easy to try and find a scapegoat. Unfortunately we live in a world where the public indoctrination camps of our school system have allowed a populace that is apathetically ok with our rights being systematically stripped from us.

But then I'm also finding a scapegoat in blaming the education system ... Or a government that increasingly took power over our lives for selfish means and stripped away the liberties granted to us by our God and our forefathers.

So my blame goes to everyone, people are fallable, and we allowed fallable people to run our lives under the illusion that they were morally superior.

Just sayin'

We have met the enemy-and he is US!! --Pogo :s0160:

Brown is utterly corrupt!! A Federal investigation would be appropriate, and would likely result in her removal!!

Kate is dangerous because she is very emotionally driven! The real issue is her knee jerk reaction to things, she normally is slow to act ( lack of any real knolage and experience) so she jumps up and down and throws little girl tantrums and some one quickly writes something and she speaks and acts with out thought and says "I'm Gov'ness and hear me scream" and she does things completly out of sync with reality! Her E.O. to the Satate Popo about records was one such event! Just remember, she takes Bloombukz, and follows marching orders, and has already threatend anti gun action recently! Remember, she says that Oregon will do something to stop mass shootings and set an example for the rest of the States! Sounds like the spoiled little rich snob nobody she is, but dangerous none the less!
Invistagate her, and remove her quickly and undo her E.O.s NOW! That's a good start to cleaning the barn in Salem!

We certainly can't count on her to talk any sense in to her parties legislators. Bloomberg didn't help fund her campaign because he wanted to see her win due to her sexuality preference.

But Soros did, and that is telling! Kate is predictably unpredictable making her a wild card, and she is emotional so she can be manipulated! Combined, those things are dangerous because she lets the real movers and shakers tell her what to do, and she is "Empowered enough" to stand behind the podium with her Popo body guards and spout off about what "She" is gonna do!
Remember this, she called for the outright murder of the protesters in Burns, so she has proven her self willing to go to extremes with her actions! God help us if we have something bad happen and she is in charge, count on lots of missaction and overreaction and emotions run amook!:eek::eek:
