It is in interesting that the penalties for a signature gatherer who "make false statements to any person who signs the petition or requests information about it;" is:

If any of these creeps do lie while obtaining signatures, they need to be reported.

So if this comes up again and makes it to the street for signatures, we need to be face to face with these people asking them questions while recording it (after disclosing that they are being recorded, of course). Then, after they have answered our questions on video, inform them that if the answers they just provided are false they have committed a felony. This should get their attention and perhaps persuade them to stay home where the ignorant belong.

Agreed, but with Dennis Richardson as the SOS and a gun-friendly DA in my county, there's a chance. Even without enforcement, however, it may make some of them think twice about what they're doing.

The only thing I can think of is getting out to the caucuses and getting the right people ushered into the right parties that you align with best and then pushing for them. Dem or Rep are the only two options currently with the majority. It would be interesting to see a Green or Libertarian like poised in the 2016 election as a chance but entering a 3rd or 4th party would basically put us on par with the likes of the EU's multiple party entry.

The other alternative is if everyone, hypothetically, stopped voting from here on out our only option is to rely upon the House/Senate to decide for us who our POTUS would be from either D/R party.

Trying to elect good people hasn't and won't work; third party candidates are usually a disaster, a la Teddy's Bull Moose Party.

Our best recourse, and I've mentioned it before, is an Article V Convention of States. I really think the three possible amendments that will have the most immediate and longest lasting effect are repealing the 17th Amendment, term limits for Congress and term limits for SCOTUS.
