Might they also suggest that the DOJ go after specific Federal District Court judges (those in the 9th District for one....) for flouting Bruen and Heller?

Just thinking, going after States is a good thing, but it may not matter much if the anti2A Fed District Court Judges are still in place to ensure that these States can continue to violate 2A.
