The only 2 that do not require it are AOW and Silencer. The other 4 all require 5320. So going from WA to OR unless you have a grandfathered MG/SBS/SBR then it is only DD that would need approval.

Anything that requires an NFA tax stamp must have a form 5320 filed for every time it crosses a state boundary. However, if you plan on crossing a specific state line often, you can say so on the form, and the form will be good for up to a year. So if you often go from Washington into Oregon to shoot (understandable, given Washington's goofy laws on NFA firearms,) just put in the description something like "to compete in sporting events and informal shoots in Oregon." That should cover you.

From my understanding, such a "year-long" form is good for the crossings stated. If, during that year, you decide to drive through Oregon to Utah, though, you would need a new form since that wouldn't be covered under your year-long form.

(Standard disclaimer: IANAL, YMMV.)

So much mis-information in the above post. NOT every thing with an NFA stamp requires a 5320.20 for transfer, <broken link removed>

Right on the form itself;
A written request and prior authorization from ATF to transport interstate or in foreign commerce any destructive device, machinegun, short-barreled rifle, or short-barreled shotgun is required under the provisions of Section 922 (a)(4), Title 18, U.S.C., and Section 478.28, Title 27, CFR, a letter of request, in duplicate, containing all information required on this form, may be submitted in lieu of the form.

Silencer and AOW is NOT included on that list.

What goofy WA laws are you talking about. In WA SBR/SBS/MG are illegal, AOW/DD/Silencer are legal, what is goofy about that?

Yes it is correct that you can fill out the form for full year. Many folks that travel fill out all their 5320.20 at the beginning of the year and for the states they want to travel to. This is done since you have to have the form back approved before traveling.
