While funny and quite possibly true....

That you can change a lot with them , could be a good thing...since you can then make a firearm truly yours and best for how you use it.

A quick note about this...

My edc 365 and garage glock are both bone stock.

This is on purpose after attending a @Cerberus Group training on self defense and the law where it was pointed out that a punisher back plate on your handgun does not look good to a jury among other "mods".

My modded guns are range toys.

With the exception of the home defense firearm which just has a light.

I don't want to stand in front of a jury explaining how a lighter trigger and mag flare can blow out both lungs with a 9mm

Changing things out / making the gun work for you....
Does not necessarily mean making changes that won't look good in front of a jury.

Also...
in the interest of honesty...
I think that the fear of this is overrated.
While it is indeed possible...and even has happened....the probability of it happening needs to be factored in.
Of course this will vary depending on your situation and circumstances.
In any event...
I don't over wonder / worry 'bout this.

I agree absolutely with this whole statement.

That is why I don't mind the edc and garage gun being stock, as they function as they should!

Yep, same. This brings to mind the shooting of a prone suspect with an AR-15 in a hallway with the suspect clearly showing his hands and pleading with the officer. The officer had the words "You're f%&$ed" emblazoned on his rifle.

Carry gun/Glock 19 stays stock other than a stipple job, Kagwerks slide lock and milling for an optic/front serrations if needed. If I am running an optic I remove the irons now. If running only irons those get upgraded as well. Cause the plastic Glock sights will literally snap off. lol.

Other than that - no fancy colors, slogans, symbols ect. I'm not worried about a judge/jury. If I'm ever forced to use a gun in Oregon I know I'll already have a mountain to climb. If anything I'm just trying to limit the ammo they have against me. Same reason I carry a 10 round mag when I go to Washington and will likely do the same in Oregon if 114 passes.

Haha... imagine going to trial on the west coast for a shooting with this being your self defence weapon

I have never owned a Glock, but have shot them. They are OK, but do not fit me.

All of my 20+ pistols have hammers and only one has any plastic frames or slides. I am just old fashion and really enjoy revolvers more than my other pistols.

EDIT: I forgot about my S&W Victory .22. No hammer, but all steel.

I'm sorry but I have no love for Glocks. They are a quality firearm.

But a) They ugly...we're talking crap-house door off a tuna boat ugly. Why they gotta be so damn ugly?

and b) It's hard for me to respect gun companies that cave. I realize they're not American and may not share American values on this issue...which is only more reason not to like them. But you cannot negotiate with terrorists...which is what the gun lobby is. Bending the knee in any fashion hurts everyone. Serves Glock right for this. Maybe they will learn from their mistake.
What a valuable comment to this thread thanks.

A bad shoot is bad shoot, bone stock firearm or not.
True, but with that on your dust cover you're only stacking the cards against you when you're in front of the jury.

Ironically, that officer was acquitted. If you watch the video of the bad shoot the officer's actions are horrendous. He absolutely wanted to shoot the suspect.

Proves that having goofy sayings/symbols & things on a firearm don't really matter in court. In this case.
This case was a travesty all around.

My point is that by having your carry firearm emblazoned with slogans like, "You're F___ed!" can only work against you in a court of law, so why take a chance with that dynamic in the highly unlikely event you need to use your weapon? Just my .02 -- not saying it's gospel.

This is the only point I was making...and I never even thought about it before taking that course.

As far fetched as it probably is, it is reasonable that one less thing for a prosecution to look at is something as silly as a "he was aiming to shoot a perp" modification of a handgun.

There are many funny statements on modifications available for my Glocks but the first thing I think about is how it will look in a courtroom if I'm involved in a good shoot.
Things like "smile and wait for the flash" engraved on the end of the barrel - not cool.
