They're a tool. And I want a tool that always works and needs minimal to zero maintenance. Reliability and dependability are number one for me. The fact that I get that for $350-$400 is a bonus.

Yes to all of these things. Your philosophy aligns 100% with mine.

My carry pistol (G26) is almost 100% stock with a set of XS Big Dots. The exterior is clean but scuffed up and the internals well maintained. I've never had a malfunction and I know it's going to go bang every time I pull the trigger.
