How can such a cheap and lightweight rifle do this??

It's not hard to believe. They are a great rifle at a great price! I've said it since I first got my hands on one!
I've said before, my 16"barrel on my remington 600 built in 1965 will make 6" groups or less at 500 yards easy!

If I said I can hit an 18" torso at 750 with a Mosin (unmolested), open sight, with spam can fodder, who'd believe me...

I just picked up the Ruger American ranch compact in .556 Thursday and a 3x9 Nikon Friday and paired them up yesterday.
I was using a cheap bi pod and wolf steel cased hollow points,,, this little turd shoots better than I do.
This is only at 100 yards, but that's not shabby for straight out of the box. Ruger has hit a long ball on with this one as far as I'm concerned, under $512 for the package which probably is under 7 lbs? Fun, light and accurate.. I like it, but I don't think the coyotes will!
