The problem with higher rings is that it makes for a less stable cheek weld since your eye has to be so much higher. If a shooter feels they absolutely need that 50mm objective lens, then they need to also add a cheek riser to their stock. Lower rings also allows for faster acquisition of your proper position on the stock.
