okay then, i got drawn back into the AR crowd and made the plunge. sold my handgun today and got a complete PSA lower with a mag but im still in need of an upper. one down side is im torn between 5.45 and 5.56 ammo. met a guy today saying he doesnt have any trouble using his with standard parts and USGI mags but everything i find to reference says everything has to be finely tuned and thats simply beyond me. so im thinking 5.56 is the safe bet but if i can get 5.45 to work properly, it is a better caliber.
anyone have experience with 5.45 in their AR?
i'll probably be going plain jane with the rifle for a while but if its practical i think i would like to get it in 5.45 when i get it in my budget to do so. any thoughts?
