The article indicates a Hawaii Senate resolution to request that the US Congress propose amending the 2A (there's a mouthful) has passed but the HI Legislature's page shows only that it was offered: Measure Status And it was only signed by 5 members of a 25 member body: Hawaii Senate - Wikipedia So I think it is more in the proposal stage in the HI Senate and not yet sent on to Congress, though I could be wrong.

Regardless, when they say they aren't coming for your guns, you know they're lying. They either want to back-door repeal the 2A with onerous state laws, or front-door repeal it, but either way, they want it gone.

It's clear they never read the Federalist Papers, also written by participants of the US Constitution.... where they CLEARLY SAY the 2A is all about an INDIVIDUAL right to keep and bear arms. Throughout historical documents, the founding fathers were constantly concerned with the yoke of an oppressive government arising from the ashes of the one they just got out from under.



Also, when you read the Constitution within the context of the Federalist Papers, as well as personal letters of the other Founding Fathers...

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

clearly doesn't mean "State" as in a governmental body, it means a free state of being, being in a free state of personal freedom and liberty.

This is why US History isn't taught worth a squirt.... the latest generations have had their heritage hidden from them and supplanted with a sick and twisted counterfeit of "liberty".

That doesn't hold true, as discussed in Federalist Papers 29 and 46. And if that were the case, there'd be no comma between "State" and "the right" (in red below). There are two distinct thoughts, the first being a well regulated militia, to protect the state from an overreaching federal government. And the second being the right of the people (individuals) to keep and bear arms, to keep the state government from overreaching... But what do I know, I have a difficult time finding the correct words...
