It all started off in the morning. I took my mom to her cancer surgery. I had stopped out before I took her and got an egg McMuffin type thing from dairy mart. We go to the surgery center. And then about 15 minutes later, I am in the bathroom. Diarrhea and vomiting.
While I'm in the bathroom, someone try's to keypad the door and get in. I had it locked. I said it's busy. Not even a minute later they are trying to get in again. It's occupied I yelled.
I am sitting in there not having a good time time, and the person is at it again. It's busy I yelled so bubblegum off and leave me alone. I was in there for 20 minutes. When I got out, I went to the desk where my mom is still filling out her forms and I tell the woman at the desk. I said you have no barf bags in there you are out of the them. So say says, "oh, do you need a sick bag?" I looked at her and grinned and said "not anymore."
So I go back home while my mom is in surgery. It's going to be four hours and my wife will pick her up. I am feeling like absolute bubblegum. I am in bed for an hour and the door bell rings. I get up and it's the mail carrier. She brings me my mail and says someone ripped the back panel off the mailbox (which serves our whole street) and she says your mail will be at the post office. We will try to get it fixed Monday or Tuesday. She didn't have much mail with her. So I know I am missing some mail, likely my VA meds too.
But wait, it gets better….
I was sick in bed all day. About 3am my dog, who sleeps with me, jumps off the bed and races toward the door. I heard rumbling outside. I grabbed my pistol and went to have a look. I open the door, there is nobody there, but I hear someone running down the street. I opened the door because I was gonna turn my pit bull loose on them. But they ran off the second they heard her menacing bark.
My trash cans are on my front porch by my door in front of a window. It's the only window that opens. The big one next to it facing the street does not open. They had rearranged my trash cans trying to get through the window. Some years back, in the 90's when my mom lived here, someone broke that window out, crawled through and stole all the Christmas presents.
So, yeah, it was a fun day…
