I have a German K98 that is marked S/27 and 1936 over the chamber with accompanying eagle over 280 Waffenamts. It's old, a bit crusty, and rather beat up, but I like it.

This particular WWII German rifle was originally issued in Germany, then captured in Russia, (there is an ugly Russian "X" capture mark on the left side of the chamber), and then reissued to the NVA or Viet Cong in Vietnam. It became a Vietnam War Trophy when it was captured by Captain Morgan L. Johnson of Engineer Advisory Group MACV RVN in 1971. I think it is safe to assume that it fought on two continents; Europe and Asia. Now it occupies an honored place in my safe.
