I have to argue you on this one.Obama is the cause for the massive jump.I have never been turned down trying to order powder, and I haven't seen reloading equipment dissappear so fast ever, even at the high prices it is dissappearing as fast as the stores get it in.People are scared of the ban.If he is able to over tax reloading supplies,it will get worse.

that was in reference to 7.62x39 that started going up during a gun friendly Bush administration when the ban ended and everyone started building just to illustrate supply and demand and how as long as there are buyers for the higher prices , prices will stay up.

I know (duh) that Obama is the cause of the massive jump (no argument there) you could say he is best gun sale promoter this country has ever seen and probably the cause for some people who would have never bought a gun to do so as they may believe this may be their last chance to buy one which on one hand is a good thing as the more gun owners the more voting power and the more people that will be angry when they are asked to give them up but on the other hand probably more people who should not be owning them are getting them as well and doing stupid things

AND just wait until June comes down hard on Ward Cleaver and starts complaining about "That stupid gun you bought that I don't want around the house anymore" - Might be more than a few "first timers" having to off their AR's, AK's etc.

I wonder if these are the same people that are doing all the killing lately.
I still think Obama is waiting for more guns to sell so he can tax guns and ammo. And not just sales after the ban takes place, but every gun that is in the books.

Let me guess. YOU want an AR, but YOU won't pony up the $2000+
that someone is asking, so that's unfair and price gouging?

A seller can ASK anything they want. If some moron pays it so what?
We aren't talking food or shelter here---it's a discretionary purchase.
Supply and demand will set the price. If the price doesn't suit you
DON'T BUY IT.

Or would you rather the government stepped in with some price
controls? Free market or soc-ial-ism---pick one and live with it.

I can't support this, as you are trying to blow his statement completely out of context. He said nothing about government controls, he was just stating how ridiculous of a price this vendor was charging, and being a good guy and giving us a heads up.

He obviously walked by and didn't purchase, and what you stated wasn't his complaint.
He has a very valid point, and I'm glad he posts about his experience.

I see no reason to scold him and accuse him of being socialist.

Sorry if I came on a bit strong, but his "scum" and "shafted by these pricks"
language kind of wound me up.

Never acused him or anybody else on this board of being a socialist. Just
pointed out that it's a choice-----free market supply and demand, or
take what you get when you start crying "somebody ought to do something
about it" and the government does do something--price controls and
play by their rules.
