It goes far beyond "his choice" and I wish those who choose to take their own life had the capacity to understand that.
There is another side to it that I've learned after dealing with several suicides. Not only are they sometimes unable to see past their own pain to consider the impact their action will have on others, but many truly believe they are helping those around them by committing this act. In those cases they truly believe their presence in this world causes the people around them to feel the same pain they do and by leaving, they believe they are freeing others of that pain. It's a twisted way of thinking, but not uncommon among those that commit suicide.
