Counterpoint, NFA is a taxing scheme, and thus the removal of silencers from NFA is good under the Byrd rule since it's relating to changing the revenue/,,taxing, directly relating to budget. SCOTUS has consistently upheld that the NFA is a tax scheme, and affirmed it to be legal. Ergo, removing silencers from NFA meets Byrd rule because it impacts revenue and budgets.

Logical, of course but when has the Senate ever done logical things

Edit, since GCA defines silencers as firearms, it would still be regulated same as firearms, just no longer NFA taxed/transferred/registered

There doesn't have to be a paper or electronic client list to be involved with human trafficking. It could be really as simple as remembering that one guy who asked you for a specific type..

Back on topic... Well. As per usual, GOP leadership are cowards. Some of the GOP Senators are rightfully angry that Senate Majority Leader John Thune did not fire nor did Vance overrule the Senate Parliamentarian. But we did get $0 making/transfer tax on everything except Machine Guns and Destructive Devices... With the issue of still requiring registration and approval from ATF. At least there's the GOA and FPC lawsuits.

I have a hard time believing that an operation of that magnitude didn't have records... Remember Heidi Fleiss and her little black book? That was just basic adult prostitution. Epstein was clearly running something far more sinister and with ulterior motives. He wasn't providing little girls to whomever could afford it nor even to the highest bidder, his currency was influence and it's apparently a far deeper hole than we thought.
For these people to do a complete 180 on it and then stonewall and mock interest in it AFTER it was major campaign issue? No way

Theres even Jews being punished. Sure there's some anti-Semitism but primarily this is directed at the political entity of the State of Israel.

Either way, racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, etc are free speech. The 1A is there to protect the most abhorrent language... So political speech should be an easy one.... But it's the most dangerous. NAMBLA gets a pass but dickheads hating on Israel get the boot?

Nor is it America first... We still protect people burning the American flag, denigrating our country, hating on trad American values.... But people hating on a foreign country are somehow more worthy of punishment?

If there was an actual client list and it implicated GOP Congress critters and Trump in criminal misconduct, why didn't Biden's admin reveal that? That would have dealt a huge blow to the GOP and Trump campaigns during the 2022 midterms and 2024 election year.

The silence from the DNC is rather telling. They're all complicit? Or they're all not implicated? No such obvious client list?

But all the same, if they (Biden admin) were really that corrupt, they could have released edited lists and put the blame on alot of the GOP and shame them and get them to lose seats either way (resign or primary or voters)... Then again, the threat of the GOP turning around and doing the same?

Again, I don't know. What I do know is that there's a chance the midterms have shifted the demographics back to a D majority for Congress at least... And that there might be a chance that the next reconciliation bill is going to see a stupid high increase on NFA taxes, if the Courts don't decide before then.

There are a number of GOP legislators that are saying they are not going to run in 2026. There are a significant # of voters who regret voting for Trump.

So yeah - stuff can happen next year. This is why I was saying that if the NFA suits don't work their way up to SCOTUS, and then SCOTUS doesn't grant cert and decide on the NFA suits before 2027, we may see the "win" transform into a loss, maybe a big loss.
