I'd be OK with Mark Smith of the Four Boxes Diner being a Senator or House Rep ;) not the guy from Armed Scholar that's for sure. Colion Noir, sure but I think he'd do better as someone with either GOA, FPC or SAF. Braden, nah. Mr Guns n Gear? Dunno. Spitballing here.

Edit. Actually. Musk and possibly the Leviathan Group and other SM people might do a lot of pulling votes from the GOP if the Leviathan Group (huge "pro2A "social media management group) puts their people behind Musk's America Party.

But like Trump, he could throw a lot of money towards people running against the GOP incumbents
Money better spent Primarying the incumbents rather then splitting the vote. If we had Ranked Choice or Instant Run Off voting it wouldn't be as bad (and be better representative of the people's wants.)

Ranked choice doesn't really work out, especially in closed primary States.

Really, that's the major thing I can see being better, no more closed (only D or R or registered parties) primary elections across the board.

The other would be to triple the size of the House to fit the tripling of the US population since the population census of 1910s

Yeah RCV works better in Primaryless Elections, IRV works even with a smaller candidate pool. Either is better then pluarlity voting for avoiding 3rd party spoilers.

Regardless Musk's "America" party will only serve to split the conservative vote.

It has been suggested Ross Perot and the Reform Party resulted in Slick Willie's victory over HW. Which, in turn, resulted in AWB94 and the BATFE of that era.
Teddy Roosevelt split the vote in 1912 by running as an independent. This took votes from Rs causing D Woodrow Wilson to become pres. The same thing will happen here if musk funds a third party candidate. A D will win.

The only thing that could stop that imo is some big mistake by a candidate or a scandal. A change of heart by Musk is possible too.

T Roosevelt had two terms then hand picked Taft to be his successor who won the next election. Then TR wasn't happy with Tafts politics and performance and decided to run for a third term. This split the vote causing D to win.

IMO it always comes down to the same conclusion about what we can do. Whether it's future national gun laws, state, whatever. Some things are in our circle of control, some things are not.

If I remember right, at the last minute Musk tried to back out of buying Twitter, but had to go forward with it. Since then Twitter has pretty much gone down the drain.
Musk wanted to back out because his analysis of fake Twitter accounts and bots being a high percentage of the total accounts was correct, and he knew it would impact the bottom line once it was exposed as truth. And that's exactly what's happened. A lot of advertisers tried to use Musk's politics as the reason they were pulling their dollars, but in the end, Twitter was just never a viable platform for those dollars as it didn't have the number of eyeballs required to demand the ad rates it was commanding. The advertisers were looking for reasons to move their ad dollars to more viable channels, and Musk proved what they had long suspected while also giving them political cover for moving those ad dollars elsewhere.

Those of us old enough, and in the know, saw the same problem with Enron Broadband Services here in Portland with their attempt to create an early version of streaming services. The content producers always asked how many eyeballs they had, and the ISPs always asked how much content was available. Chicken and egg problem.

Whatever the reason, whether he should have done his due diligence before he was committed, or he just decided he didn't want to spend tens of billions, he changed his mind too late. Same with supported Trump IMO - except now he got his feelings hurt and he has decided he wants revenge.

*Shrug* It's his money/time if he wants to waste it. Except his shareholders and board of directors and customers don't seem to share that view.

Does anyone know which District Court the NRA-ILA/FPC/SAF/ASA filed their lawsuit? All I'm finding is that GOA/Gun Owners Foundation, Silencer Shop, FRAC, PSA and B&T USA filed in Northern Texas
I don't think it's actually filed yet. I would be surprised if it wasn't TX.

"Many of you have repeatedly asked us to take on the NFA, and FPC looks forward to doing more of just that as soon as legally possible and prudent. …"

"…
Yesterday, we warned the Grassroots Army that gun-hating activist groups could be raising millions off the announcement of our planned NFA lawsuit.

And today, it's almost like Everytown has been reading our emails, because these scumbags just blasted out their own fundraiser that directly calls out our work!

That means while FPC is struggling to prepare our Lawsuit Printer for battle, gun-grabbing lunatics are rushing to write checks to TAKE YOUR GUNS!…"

Well I'm just thinking a little strategically, but FPC should file in an anti-2A district in order to get the needed circuit split to force SCOTUS to fast track things? I mean, if GOA is doing North TX, then FPC should do maybe 7th or 4th , or whichever has a track record of going against 2A quickly, not the 9th because those people tend to want to delay delay delay....

Edit once you have a circuit split on a 2A case, the odds are far better for SCOTUS to make a judgement call or some such, especially if one district rules that govt can require registering weapons without taxation authority, and the other rules govt cannot....

Between DEF/DPF and elecronics, I won't touch a diesel in a equipment/vehicles made after ~'04 (the year depends on whether it is an automobile or a tractor/etc.).
Generators don't have to comply with the same regulations as traction engines, but that would be Tesla stealing Edisons ideas.
