I'd like to find a place to go to let my wife try out her new toy. P365XL. This looks perfect and close. We're both Scouts and would love to help with cleaning up. I promise to bring her back home, too.

I clean up this place every time I go out, about once a month. People leave all kinds of crap out there. I normally take a shovel and bury the wood and paper people leave and bag the garbage and remove it. its close for me and I dont want it to get closed down.

Gooseneck Road is open for some shooting, there is a big yellow sign at the entrance off the road saying "fire restrictions in effect, no steel targets or explosive targets". But the little bulletin board only has target shooting rules and regulations posted. Also, I informed a couple shooting in a spot that they were in an "Unsafe shooting area", whose sign has the "un" part shot out.. and they thanked me, and were packing up to move when I left, when a BLM patrol truck sped past me to that area I'm assuming. Hopefully they only got a warning and not a citation/ticket. Seeing several OK spots, and seeing several roads with lots of downed branches/trees to the sides. Some roads have signs of fresh rockfall.

Current conditions as of 1-2pm today. Need get rubber boots and grabber tools for next time to pick up more 1000122812.jpg 1000122811.jpg 1000122810.jpg 1000122809.jpg 1000122813.jpg 1000122814.jpg 1000122815.jpg 1000122816.jpg 1000122817.jpg

Questions, which fork will lead me to a 100 yard shooting spot that's not got an "No Target Shooting area" or "Unsafe Target Shooting Area" sign(s)?

After the bulletin sign, took the left fork, and headed a few miles uphill. Same road that has the foggy pictures, just further uphill from the foggy pictures posted above.

Then I saw a dark red sign with white text saying "no target shooting area" before this area below

Guessing that this specific area is closed to target shooting, yes? Yellow 4.5 and 5 markers and past 2nd yellow gate

At the triple fork in the road, there's an old 4th fork that's got lots of logs over it, is it a safe spot or one of those "no shooting" spots? I did not see a sign saying either way and lots of spent shotgun shells, old steel cases, remnants of clay targets 1000124828.jpg 1000124826.jpg 1000124824.jpg 1000124827.jpg

Fyi, most spots over there have no shooting signs.

Last two times I went up there, and deputy or a fish and wildlife trooper were talking to people at the main path (where that billboard is) about not shooting at gooseneck much anymore. They said there's not very many good backdrops and have had multiple complaints.

New no shooting signs?

Edit. I've started going up Gold Creek Road instead of Gooseneck Road but there are a couple spots on Gooseneck Road that may be OK, as they have decent backdrops. The rightmost fork at the main bulletin board, and that road does connect to Gold Creek Road by the way.
