Lets hear some ideas, my take is he wants to march into Syria or Iran unhindered and is buying off Russia to stay out of the new mess.

ummm I just listed a link and told you it is just starting to come out, I don't know much more than the 10 or 15 links show, but can't understand why you just act like it is no big deal. I guess you will hear much more in the coming days and weeks from your favorite news sources...not.

I really don't give a crap what party is in power the spineless jelly fish or the arrogant liars,(they are pretty much one and the same anymore just with the letter D(ick$) or R(ectal matter)in front of their names), but it is very irritating to see what the current administration is doing to the constitution, our basic freedoms and to simply hear or see most libs poo poo it away like it is no big deal or blame it on the previous administration, I guess it is no big deal we should all just shut up and go home, nothing to see here right?

The reason you are probably not hearing anything from the canidates is because they are close to the same as all the other idiots in power, or maybe because they havn't heard about it yet either? I don't know.

Last month, Obama killed the job-producing Keystone XL Pipeline that, if allowed to proceed, would deliver 700,000 barrels a day of crude oil from Alberta's oil sands to refineries along the Gulf of Mexico.

Joe Miller reports for WorldNetDaily that Obama's war against U.S. energy independence continues unabated this month with a foreign-aid program that directly threatens Alaska's sovereign territory. The Obama administration is giving away seven strategic, resource-laden Alaskan islands to the Russians.

Miller should know because he is an Alaskan. More than that, this is the same Joe Miller who was the 2010 Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate from Alaska. A West Point graduate, decorated combat veteran from the first Gulf War, and former judge, Miller holds a law degree from Yale and an advanced economics degree from the University of Alaska.

"The seven endangered islands in the Arctic Ocean and Bering Sea include one the size of Rhode Island and Delaware combined. The Russians are also to get the tens of thousands of square miles of oil-rich seabeds surrounding the islands. The Department of Interior estimates billions of barrels of oil are at stake.

The State Department has undertaken the giveaway in the guise of a maritime boundary agreement between Alaska and Siberia. Astoundingly, our federal government itself drew the line to put these seven Alaskan islands on the Russian side. But as an executive agreement, it could be reversed with the stroke of a pen by President Obama or Secretary Clinton.

The agreement was negotiated in total secrecy. The state of Alaska was not allowed to participate in the negotiations, nor was the public given any opportunity for comment. This is despite the fact the Alaska Legislature has passed resolutions of opposition – but the State Department doesn't seem to care.

The imperiled Arctic Ocean islands include Wrangell, Bennett, Jeannette and Henrietta. Wrangell became American in 1881 with the landing of the U.S. Revenue Marine ship Thomas Corwin. The landing party included the famed naturalist John Muir. It is 3,000 square miles in size.

Northwest of Wrangell are the DeLong Islands, named for George Washington DeLong, the captain of USS Jeannette. Also in 1881, he discovered and claimed these three islands for the United States. He named them for the voyage co-sponsor, New York City newspaper publisher James Gordon Bennett. The ship's crew received a hero's welcome back in Washington, and Congress awarded them gold medals.

In the Bering Sea at the far west end of the Aleutian chain are Copper Island, Sea Lion Rock and Sea Otter Rock. They were ceded to the U.S. in Seward's 1867 treaty with Russia.

Now is the time for the Obama administration to stand up for U.S. and Alaskan rights and invaluable resources. The State Department's maritime agreement is a loser – it gives us nothing in return for giving up Alaska's sovereign territory and invaluable resources. We won the Cold War and should start acting like it.

The Obama administration must stop the giveaway immediately.

I'm hoping this piece will help reinvigorate efforts to stop this handover."

Please do the internet a favor and research claims before posting things that just make "sensational" news. From what I see, the islands were never part of the Seward purchase.

The agreement was ratified in 1990 under the first Bush administration;

No where is there any evidence of oil, or that the islands were ever under US control.

alarmists? I don't know about that, love how that term is thrown around so losely though kind of like the word trillion. Anytime you really want to make the side you disagree with look like they are nuts just call them "alarmists". I just thought it was amazing to read and couldn't believe our presidents were involved with that (Bush and zero). As I mentioned above the gov in general is drunk on their own power and it is amazing to see.

I guess CNN needs to report the story for it to be true huh, lol. sorry I didn't clear it through them first.

I just want my own island, and am jelous of the giveaways, a few bailouts here, an island or 7 there, a new tsar here, cushy job for a donor there, trillion here, trillion there, etc., etc.

Stories such as this one are manufactured to rile up either side of the political spectrum. This one happens to be aimed at the far right. Look up Bennett Island and see what you come up with. If you research "Obama gives Alaskan Islands to Russia" you will find several sites that have copy and pasted the same story, but they are all blogs, not credible news sources.
