This reminds me of those POLICE body cam videos where the person screams "I'm a Sovereign Citizen" while being dragged through their broken car window before being beaten and tased.

I definitely am not willing to pay the price, but this is also perhaps the last chance I'll ever have to mag dump 60 rounds at a watermelon. You are trying to apply common sense. Washington sued the ATF based on the 5 per second clause when the ATF was trying to return seized FRT's .

WA is not the ones explicitly suing the ATF over the returns but rather they joined a multi state lawsuit challenging the ruling of the federal definition of a machine gun in federal courts. They are not challenging based on state definition but rather the federal definition which does not state a Rounds per second

I think it's ultimately up to a judge. Any zealous cop could claim your bubblegum is a machine gun and arrest you and confiscate your gun. Then it would be up to the prosecutor and the judge. Maybe you could get a rockstar defender or something, but ultimately these laws are vague enough that I'm not sure the FRT workaround for the "single press of the trigger" clause would hold up against the wrong judge. Eventually it may come down to a court case but that still means you're in jail, or best case out a bunch of money and time. I think the specifics of the law only matter in a courtroom, and that depends so much on the people arguing it, regardless of what we think. I just want to come up with little covers over my super safety that make it look exactly like a stock safety lol.
