Taking on Zero Tolerance in Schools
supporting Jared Marcum against overzealous prosecutor
Gun Owners Foundation has come to the defense of a West Virginia teenager who is actually being prosecuted (a.k.a., persecuted) for his pro-gun views.
Jared Marcum wore a T-shirt to his Logan County middle school in West Virginia on April 18 -- a decision that has since sparked a national controversy.
No, Jared’s T-shirt did not depict a Muslim beheading a victim while shouting Alahu Akhbar! Such depictions of violence would violate the school’s dress code.
Jared’s T-shirt depicted a hunting rifle with the message: “Protect Your Right.” And now, he faces up to a year in jail for doing so!
The outrageousness of this case has prompted the involvement of Gun Owners Foundation, which has agreed to help Jared pro bono.

It all began on April 18. Everything was fine for the morning classes, but then the day went goofy when an anti-gun teacher confronted Jared in the lunch line and told him to turn his shirt inside out.
Jared pointed out that his shirt did not violate school policy.
The teacher sent Jared to the office where the same back and forth was repeated with the administration. Then a police officer was summoned who ordered Jared to turn his shirt inside out. Jared told the officer and the administration that he was doing nothing wrong.
According to the officer, Jared’s shirt constituted a terrorist threat. He did not put that in his written report, but instead charged Jared with obstructing an officer (apparently Jared interrupted the officer while he was talking to the administration).
Jared was cuffed, charged and told that he could be fined up to $500 and spend up to a year in jail. The prosecutor decided to press the charge, and a judge allowed the prosecution to proceed.
In a town of less than 2,000, what are the odds that at least five adults are this insane? And all on the same day?
Zero Tolerance can be better understood as Zero Judgment.
Jared was suspended for a day. When he returned to school, around 100 students wore similar shirts, and Jared wore the same shirt that fried the brains of five grownups two days earlier. Nothing happened. None of the students heard a word about their T-shirts.
Jared and his stepfather, Allen Ladieri, are to be commended for not backing down, and Gun Owners Foundation is actively supporting the case.
Usually, Gun Owners Foundation supports individuals appealing convictions on firearms charges that involve constitutional issues. But we think that Jared’s case warrants special attention, as it involves both First and Second Amendment freedoms.
If we are not allowed to make pro-Second Amendment statements -- all because somebody is offended -- then we can count the days to when we’ll lose the freedoms enshrined in both Amendments.
If Jared prevails in this case, we may have finally reached a turning point regarding Zero Tolerance, which is one of the most insidious policies being inflicted on the nation’s young people.

And at least three of this young mans rights were violated. One can only hope that the judge that allowed this to proceed had other thoughts than purely prosecution on his mind. I'd be willing to bet that if this goes to a jury it will be blown out of the water rather quickly, and if so then that opens the door for a bunch of lawsuits against the teacher, police officer and school administration.

I have a serious problem with police officers threatening teenagers with fines and jail time for non-compliance with an unlawful order. If the shirt is not against school policy, then they are entitled to ask him to turn it inside out, but have ZERO authority to demand it. And how does it even become a police involved issue?

I hope several people lose their jobs for this and make an example to scare the rest of the teachers and admins straight.

We get the education that government WANTS the children to have, nothing more. Our educational/state programming system is not a failure (even though we rank at the bottom on almost any international scale). It is producing exactly what government wants.

In ten years, most of the youth that will be 20-22 years old will see guns as objects to be shunned and as inherently evil; and you thought the whole pop tart gun thing was just silliness. No, it is social programming handed down by our owners.

The government (which is nothing more than a tool for the Oligarchs) want worker drones who all think alike, no critical thinking, authority worshippers, "we will do the thinking for you" ....

If you have an A+ student what you actually have is someone adept at being a parrot. Memorize/repeat, but do not reason things out or ask any questions as to why you believe this or that.

It is why the vast majority of Americans are so deluded on so many levels. They are TOLD what to believe, what is real. They will not and cannot reason things out for themselves. The most controllable populace in modern human history.

Yes, isn't that just disgusting. If remember being sent home in school for wearing a NAZARETH t-shirt (hahaha); all it said was that in big red letters - the band - it was taken as being religious - now they were messing with a Son of a B!

I've made another observation in the last ten years or so.

Just 10-15 years ago when you went to an outdoor event - a beer fest, the Rose Festival, a baseball game, whatever - many people would wear t-shirts with messages on them. Even light hearted ones. People that are into sports don't even want to wear their team name for fear of being harassed or ridiculed for it.

Now, go look around at the next event you go to and you will see the same (of course AT a sporting event you will see jerseys and the like, I am talking about an outdoor 'general' event here. Almost NONE. Why? Because today people (through social programming delivered by people like Edward Bernais) want to be clones of one another, to be accepted in the hive, more than EVER BEFORE. That is why people, when they learn certain truths, almost get into a panic at first.

People are afraid to be different in any way. It is in our DNA to worship authority and to want to be all the same.

It is subtle stuff like this that gets by most people, but if you look around you will see it. We are becoming more of directed and manipulated hive everyday. Government programming centers (schools) facilitate that; Jesuits used to say give me a boy 'til age 7 and I'll give you the man for life. Once programmed, people rarely step out of the box.

None of the education system is about teaching children to enter the world as an individual and self reliant. Look at all the breakfast to dinner 7 days aweek. Don't teach the constitution and rewrites history eveyday to support the communist agenda. Take not only God out of school(except Allah) minimize the role of parents in childrens lives. Make the gov mom, dad and god. Just like the Borg non individualism just the collective.

We started homeschooling our son in January. He is just finishing up first grade and he is doing very well. His behavior was much better soon after we pulled him out of the public school.

Yep. We need to get rid of schools so we can have several generations of uneducated and under/unemployable folks so that we can have societies like the ones we seems to disdain on this forum.

Government and the courts have taken God out of schools in order to maintain a seperation of church and state. If you want God in you kids education you have many options. We have kids that attend a variety of Christian schools but compete in our athletic programs at a public school. It all works out.


Schools DO NOT minimize parental involvment. The opposite is true. Schools want parents involved. Kids do better when they have parents who care what happens in school. Schools have parent teacher conferences. This is a frustrating time for the teachers I work with because parental involvment is mediocre at best. And invariably the teachers that do have parents show up tend to be of kids who are doing well in school. There are also policy and procedures in place for teachers, counselors, and administrators to contact the family of students who either fail to come to school, are problems and distractions in the classroom, or are underperforming and need to have academic modifications put in place. Don't automatically blame schools for problems. There are variables that schools have to deal with that aren't school related.

As to the OP. I hope some heads roll for the handling of the issue.

They are often no different than any 'important' politician; bought and paid for only. They could care a less about the Constitution or what an individual should have in the way of rights.

When you see the bigger picture, that we are an Oligarchy, it all makes perfect sense. It is all about what TPTB want, not want the people want on any level.

The majority of Americans are starting so recognize that things are getting very bad.
They want change, the end to imperial wars of conquest based on lies, the destruction of our currency through reckless spending and deficits, the surveillance police state exploding all around us, all of it. But what they want really does not matter at all because we are not a nation directed by the will of the people. We are simply manipulated worker bees and consumers.

The 2A will not be dismantled by logic and reason. It will be taken by deception. Problem (staged false flags); Reaction (fear, mommy help us); Solution (Gun Control and loss of an private gun ownership). Their tried and true historically proven strategy will eventually succeed. They are smart and cunning. People are just, well, naive and stupid authority worshipers.
