Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
I was just wondering...a few years ago I was bored one weekend and sharpened the back of an old machete. I used a stone, so it is decently sharp. Is this illegal in OR or WA to carry in a case, in a duffle in the trunk?
like mark said..... and some places in the country it's a felony to posess a double edged blade. Also varies from county to county in some states. even if not illegal most leo's will look at you with curiosity, if they discover it.
I grew up in NY where a double edge blade was illegal, no matter the length. Even a baseball bat with a ball and glove was reason to give a kid a hard time.
For me, it's in my "get home" bag with other, similar, off the shelf items.
Oregon is very knife friendly. Thats why we can have autos and balisongs. Just make sure at least the clip is showing. For a machete or ax, I would keep in trunk.
