I have a S&W 66-2 that is a very highly polished stainless steel. It is so polished that the shop that sold it to me thought it was nickel plated. I was cleaning it tonight and got down to the final wipe down, and I seemed to just be pushing the smudges around on the surface no matter what I tried using. I finally settled on some denatured alcohol on a paper towel, but it's still not perfectly clean and shiny. Anybody out there found what works?

I use microfiber shop towels, they soak up oils nicely... big bag of yellow ones from Costco lasts forever costs about $8

Clean with alcohol and microfiber rag.
Then finish with Renaissance Wax.
That's what museums use.
Amazon and Midway have it.

Sounds like a nickel finish.

Just sayin:s0092:

Nope, definitely stainless. The shop that sold it really wasn't paying attention. They also missed the fact that it has had a premium trigger job done to it. In SA mode it's almost too light, but I love it.
