The small town of Green Leaf Idaho passed an ordinance requiring every household to have at least one gun. It is clearly referenced on the signs declaring you are entering the town. Wasn't there a suburb of Chicago that did that years ago during one of the more active anti gun movements too?

State law prempts local and city laws! These attempts carry no force of law, and while some may get caught and punished ( corrupted leo), the cities are setting them selves up for massive suits. Stay the course friends, the fight is ramping up, and the antis are pulling out all the stops to strip us of our rights! Do not give up, do not comply, or give In! This will not stand, and I have a good feeing a lot of change will be coming soon, mostly good!
It is like the drug laws that are being ignored......you have to have someone to enforce existing rules to make them effective.

Depends upon state law - the state has to claim that right, if not then counties, cities and the like can - and have.

In Florida, cities are currently suing the state for the the overturn of such a restriction; to allow each city to have it's own gun restrictions.

For a relative comparison, look to the St. Louis area, and all the local jurisdictions with separate courts, laws and so forth. Generally regarded as racist, outside the BLM movement it does not get much play.
But you can see where this could be an issue.
Are you in a city? un-incorporated? Can you get from your house to the store by being in just on jurisdiction?

The Washington State Legislature put forward a bill to allow cities to have their own gun laws instead of state preemption. Glad it did not go forward for 2018 but it may get reintroduced for 2019 .etc.

Remember when the British came for "the guns", it didn't end well.
I think its only a matter of time... Tic-tic-tic
Once a few politicians swing from trees out side government buildings, politicians will stop being corrupt, I mean the ones in the trees. But then give it another hundred years they will pull the same bullshat.

The city council of the town of Deerfield, Illinois has totally banned the possession of Assault Rifles within the city limits. Violating this new city ordinance will result in a fine of $1,000 a day for the gun's owner.

The ban is so written, that it exempts all Assault Weapons that are specifically made for use in Olympic Sport competition.
