That's exactly the law in Germany (at least when I was there). Germans are banned from owning any firearm chambered in a caliber that's used by ANY military in the world… present and past.

So this I find hilarious a 30-06 not allowed .270 allowed
30-30 WFC 30-40 Krag and 45-70gov. Bad. but 32 Win .405win and 45-90 OK lol
