"It's a bad idea to keep secret who has loaded guns in our communities..." - Oregon State Senator Ginny Burdick, speaking about concealed carry confidentiality.

In New York there were maps published showing the locations of the homes of concealed carry license holders. Subsequently crimes were committed against some of those people using the maps that identified their homes. Burdick supports this. She wants the Oregonian to be able to do the same thing.

But when she announced at the very last minute that she would not be attending a scheduled town hall meeting, citing a scheduling conflict, she was video taped from across the street, relaxing at home throughout the scheduled meeting time, and would not answer her door. Upon being confronted with the video evidence of her lie, she now plays the victim and says she was afraid of encountering her opposition face to face at the meeting. Now she and her supporters at the Oregonian web site are saying her privacy was invaded by "pro-gun nutcases" who video taped her lounging at home while stiffing the numerous citizens of Oregon who wasted time and money to show up at the meeting, not knowing she wouldn't be there.

She fails to see the irony and hypocrisy in all of this. I've come to the conclusion that she's just plain stupid.

She is also supported by an Oregonian that today ran an article by Steve Duin about "legislation by intimidation". Apparently, when you champion abortion and gay marriage, you are an activist fighting for the people. When you champion your Right To Keep And Bear Arms, you are a bully that only gets his/her way by intimidation. The idea that public concern is an issue that our elected officials take up and that fair reporting is what The Oregonian brings you are outdated and long dead. Control and suppression is what they seek. Kip.

Approximately 300,000,000 Americans didn't shoot anybody with an AR-15 in December 2012. Of the handful who did do so, all of them were identified by people around them as having mental issues and erratic behavior. Most were on psychotropic drugs. Why were these people loose on the streets with only a handful of pills to protect the rest of society?

Now, for people like Burdick, the solution to our complete lack of a mental health care system is to criminalize the other 300,000,000 Americans, assume they are all crazed sociopaths, and do everything possible to remove firearms from their possession and access. This imbecile is directly impinging on my life. She is elected as a state senator by an effete district in Oregon's largest, most comically liberal city, and there's NOTHING anybody in the rest of the state can do to remove her from office. It's not just that her efforts are disconnected from reality. Her insistence that guns are the issue and removing them from society is the solution prevents us from dealing with our non-existent mental health system. No matter what anti-gun laws are passed, psychopaths will continue to ignore them, and we will continue to lose precious children who are forced to go to school every day in unguarded, gun free zones, where the only gun present is guaranteed to belong to a homicidal maniac. I'm beyond angry.

In the words of John Wayne, "You can't fix stupid........."

some politicians in this modern age are ignorrant, paranoid, green, mushy and chronically nervous AND THEY PROPOSE LEGISLATION.

So, it seems to me the people that vote for these "anti's" are morons.

Sometimes the worldly events move in strange ways, and hopefully this one will be moved out of the legislature.
