BS aside, if you read the fine print it seems mostly a funding push for the office of gun violence prevention they established a half a year or so ago (which would be responsible for implementing/coordinating much of that). If you notice... after many of the "here's what we're going to do" segments there is a side note... urging congress to provide funding for it.

As I read it? This is mainly a big virtue signal in the twilight hours of the presidential election to bolster support for The Cackler.

Maybe that's a different class of automobiles, but I rented a late model Malibu and the thing was unsafe at any speed, as they say.

Was stoked for like 12 hours in it, but it maneuvered like a disaster on the freeway.

I sometimes buy American made New Balance shoes for twice the price of the Asian made, so maybe GM gives you the good stuff at the high price points. There could be hope for American mftg.

GM still makes cars in Michigan, Indiana, Texas and Kentucky. (yeah, I worked for GM in the mid/late '70s in Michigan back in the day). Still driving Chevys.
