Mark,as noisycow said,i dont think they would be running a nursing home at that point(feeding,clothing babysitting)that is a clean house operation.
as for us armed citizens we have a bunch of semiauto rifles and handguns,not much of a match for an apache heli with infared or drones that can take those pods of resistance out without you even knowing it's above you.
atleast the afghans had sam's and rpg's to fight this,we dont have that.

I want to be patriotic again and love my great country but I also have eyes and ears and can see that there is a more sinister possibility too and want to keep my eyes open.I dont think thats paranoia or being anti american just cautious.

martial law over 312+ Million people and covering 3,794,101 sq mi exactly how will that work? Maybe in a few large cities you might be able to enforce it. But the majority of the country no way.

Silverton has approx 15,988 people within city limits and including reserve offices 16 cops 4 are dispatchers so that leaves 12 officers to cover 21 shifts in a week. So roughly 1 officer for ever 1000 people.

Now drive a few blocks and your out in Marion County. They can't stop kids from Tagging and stealing stuff out of cars. How they going to keep the WHOLE population in check.

Wow....umm....sort ofamazed at some of the opinions outlined here. First, let me say that being skeptical of the government is healthy. But some of you are off the chart. I am a member of the National Guard and can tell you that the government has been working hard to be better prepared for events after 911 and Katrina. I see no evidence of the sinister designs that some of you see. But, again, I say that skeptcism of the government is good. Now in addition to Americans being very well armed, they also come from a culture that is suspicious of government and ferociously protective of liberty. Now, as a 24-yr military veteran, I can tell you that MOST military (at least 2/3) are more conservative, and more likely to be gun owners, and more likely to be rural, salt-of-the earth freedom-loving Americans, than your average citizens. I sincerely doubt that most military people would willingly participate in some nefarious roundup and internment of massive numbers of their fellow citizens. I just don't see it happening that way. I know someone is going to tell me I am naive, but I have seen nothing that indicates the malevolence that some of you describe. Remember that the military is always fighting the LAST war.
