I got my own ballot plus all my neighbor's mail that day, including an extra three ballots. For a few nanoseconds I felt rich. Then, (sigh), I marched up the hill and hand-delivered my neighbor's mail, including the ballots. Sigh.

280 People in some city in Oregon had their ballots tossed in the trash instead of being delivered via the Mail Man:mad::mad::mad:
Even our Federal Employees cannot be trusted to do their damn job with out cheating! ( Wonder who the mailman supports/Who paid him off to toss the ballots)
The News is reporting that people need to call a certain # if they didn't get their ballots in the mail!

Some city?? Show me a news link to this story or I call total BS on this made up fantasy. More fake political fear mongering that people are getting tired of. Don't be throwing Federal employees under the bus with a BS story. Mailman getting paid off? LOL. Ballot being misdelivered, it happens. From a USPS employee that's delivered and processed mail for 30+ years.

What if my ballot doesn't come?

If your ballot does not arrive within 5 days after they have been mailed, please call your county elections office. After checking your voter registration status the county elections office will send you a replacement ballot.

I don't trust the US Mail, or the mail carrier. What if the mail carrier hates guns, and hates you because of all the gun magazines you get, not to mention all those heavy ammo packages they have to carry up your steps? Would a mail carrier fail to deliver ballots from your mailbox? Could happen. What happens to those ballots when they arrive at the final destination? Are representatives from all political parties guarding them 24/7 until they are counted? If not, heads need to roll.

I like our vote by mail system because I have time to investigate the issues before marking the ballot, but I take the ballot on election day and stuff it in the ballot box myself. I don't even like it when they have people standing by the ballot box to take ballots from you as you drive by - I want to put it in the box myself. Keep your hands off my ballot! :)

Voted Knute.

EDIT: JRuby asks why our guns would be any more protected if Brown loses? The answer has been posted here several times. It's in the Republican primary debate that Lars Larson hosted earlier in the year - when asked about gun control Knute's answer knocked it out of the ball park. Find it. Watch it.

You can look online or call. And see if your ballot was received

Check my math but I do recall Betsy Johnson D, out of Scappoose, Or did vote against the Boyfriend "loophole" , the only dem to vote against it. Not easy to do in loonyville. She also was the only one to reply to my emails over gun control.

She votes against all gun control as far as I remember. I was hoping she would run for govenor .she is a old school dem. That has respect for the constitution and the blue collar workers . She actually will email people and speak to them on the phone instead of having a waterboy communicate on her behalf . The only one that did not sell her soul .

If a race were (D) vs. (D) I would leave it blank, since there would be no differenc
When that is the case (happens fairly regularly in OR), I vote for the wackiest one on the ballot. Not as some kind of gag, but because if they win, as freshmen they'll be shuffled off to the kids table while the grown ups talk. Unseat powerful entrenched D commitee heads, and replace them with powerless whackadoos who even embarrass their own party. As a bonus, someone wackier will run next time and they'll be easy to replace.
I don't leave blank spaces on my ballot ever.

Similarly, I don't mail my ballot in too early. It can't be counted til 10/6 anyway so there's no reason for it to languish unattended in the guv's possession for weeks. That's how things get "lost".

Betsy is a great person and the only D that rates well. She has worked well to bring back bipartisan cooperation. She came in and spoke to a group of small business owners and I was extremely impressed.

My Ballot went in today, I voted for Brown.
I mean who needs, food, a job, education, healthcare, or 2nd Amendment rights?
Vote for Kate, its the only true Socialist Choice:rolleyes:

I'm going tomorrow to the local elections office. I moved and ballots aren't forwarded.

Gonna change my address while I'm there and pick up a new ballot. No way I'm not voting!

Think next time I'll change my registration to a party that rhymes with "aristocrat" so I can vote multiple times. This only getting to vote once per election thing really sucks, plus they won't have to wast time changing my registered party after I'm dead.

Well, that cuts both ways, and hyperbole does run rampant at election season. But yeah, it could never happen!

Just a few that a search came up with. Admittedly not ballots per se, but I think it's illustrative of possibilities.

I too remember something about a case during one of the two last elections, in some city in Oregon, where ballots were thrown away. Maybe this about a stolen ballot box and 240 ballots: Ballot Box Stolen, Votes Discarded In Oregon County

Then there was the case of the ballots that suddenly, on the eve of the election, turned up in an election officials car trunk just in time to throw the election.
