With a SBR AR-15 you'll definitely want to muffle it, the blast is intense, especially for any sort of HD use. I second the idea of getting a .308 can if you have any guns in 7.62, or plan to get any. They are a little longer and heavier but give you a lot of options for use, and supposedly are within a couple db of a dedicated 5.56 can.
