Anybody know how this New England shotgun goes back together?

This shotgun was part of my brother's estate. I'd like to be able to assemble it and see if it works. Then I can decide to keep or sell it. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to assemble it. It obviously fits together sort of like a puzzle piece, but it doesn't appear to be able to go together until that large pin up front is removed. Is that correct, or am I missing something else? The pin doesn't seem like it wants to move very easily, if at all.

Large Phillips screw attaches the wood forend to the barrel assembly.

Remove; the hinge will now clear . Lock barrel to reciever. Reinstall forend carefully ( it should be snug)

Simply remove the forearm, it'll lock in place, then reattach the forearm once the barrel is mounted. I owned a slug version like this.

Maybe it's an optical illusion but you might want to measure the barrel cause that looks pretty short.
