Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
We've had fun at Richardson Rock Ranch out there by Madras. Nice place! Still have boxes of thunder eggs from there. Also, leaf fossils from behind the Fossil High School.
We also go to the Dust Devil sunstone mine now and then, just N of the Hart Mountain refuge. We've found a few nice ones, but a friend of my wife's went out there regularly with a jack hammer, and he ran into a 300 carat rock during a promotion they were running. He got that rock for nothing IIRC and it was worth several thousand dollars.
I used to belong to a 4H Rockhounds club at one time in the early late 50's-60's. Went on some interesting field trips. I will still stop to look at something that catches my eye but that is about it nowadays.
