Pancho Savery a Reed College professor is traveling around the state and spreading an anti-gun message. His workshop is titled: GUNS IN AMERICA.

Saturday Feb 7, 2015, 2pm Eugene Public Library 100 W. 10th Ave Eugene, Oregon

One shooter who attended his session last November 2014 in Prineville, Oregon said:
"Savery is one arrogant individual. He was rude to anyone who tried to express a position other than his. He is preaching that there is no 2nd Amendment right for individuals to own firearms. He is also promoting that the 2nd Amendment be put up to a popular vote so citizens in each state can determine if they want a 2nd Amendment or not. He is hard core anti-gun left."

There may be more information on OFF's facebook page:

You can bet the Eugene Red-Guard and local TV stations will be there to worship at Salvery's feet for the Sunday editions.

Please, PLEASE if you can possibly attend, do so and give this guy and the Eugene media some pro-2nd Amendment push back!

Dress nicely, be polite but firm and bring the REAL facts and opinion to the public forum.

The world is run by those who show up. If you stay home, the bad guys win by default.

It will take more than one. More than one progun advocate there to do the job effectively.

Remember, Eugene is a hotbed of hardcore leftists who will have nothing better to do than to attend events like this in support of their agenda. You can bet the post-menopause brigade of Ceasefire Oregon and their antigun ilk try to pack the meeting with their own supporters, just waiting for progun speakers.

Hardcore leftists have been trained in the techniques of how to take control of a public forum.
You can bet a few experienced agitators will take the lead in shouting down and trying to intimidate and marginalize any of our speakers. The rest of the antigun sheep will follow the goats. I've seen it happen in Eugene, and it works if our side allows it to go unchallenged.

Even if you you're reluctant to speak at the meeting, GO and support those who do speak for our side. Applaud and cheer loudly for our speakers. Remember we are dealing in the court of public opinion where "PERCEPTION IS REALITY".

We must beat our enemies at their own game to win this one decisively and its going to take a team effort to do it!

Anyone got a bull horn? That should carry the Pro gun message through when the crowd trys to shout you down.

But thats besides the point since no one at the meeting cares to hear the truth it matters not if they hear the truth only that the meeting is interrupted often with the truth.

The people that attend this event will be for the most part already antigun and most will be so set in their ways nothing will change their minds. Undecided people won't be going to this unless dragged their by their nutty friends.

On our side the same thing nothing this quack says will influence any gun owners. So its all just a shouting match for the media. If more ProGun people show up they MIGHT get mentioned. But don't bet on it in Eugenes Media.

OH and make sure you are concealed if your carrying OPEN CARRY WILL ONLY HURT THE CAUSE

Curious if Pancho Savery would be willing to go door to door demanding citizens hand over their firearms as a way to prove his sincerity and commitment to his cause? Or is he the type who prefers to have someone elses husband do his bidding while he sips Sokal Blosser Pino?

My hat is off to anyone that goes, at the very least its support for our side and a voice..

Let them know they are bigots.. Its like swatting a hornets nest but BOY, IS IT FUN. Because in the end thats what they are.
They hate us, our hobby and lifestyle so there is merit to the accusation.
I have to work so I cannot make it. :(

Pancho Savery? Sorry it would be very difficult for me to listen to someone who goes by this moniker and he is a freakish thing to look at also. I would be more inclined to listen to 'Carlos Danger'

The description on the City of Eugene website sure doesn't make it sound like he is anti-2A. I highlighted a couple of things I really found "interesting"... I live in Eugene and am a card-carrying 2A supporter. I have a commitment until 2:00 but will try to be there as soon after that as possible. I really need to hear what this wack-job has to say.

The topics of gun violence, gun control, and the right to bear arms are constantly in the news. The Second Amendment guarantees Americans the freedom to own guns. Why wasn't this freedom incorporated into the First Amendment with freedom of the press, speech, religion, and right of assembly?

As part of the Oregon Humanities Conversation Project, Reed College professor Pancho Savery will lead a community discussion about why the Second Amendment exists. The conversation will consider the special circumstances that made the freedom to own guns important enough to merit its own amendment.

Pancho Savery
is professor of English, humanities, and American studies at Reed College, where he teaches courses in American literature post-1850, African American literature, and modern and contemporary American and European drama.
This program is sponsored by Eugene Public Library, Oregon Humanities, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Oregon Cultural Trust.

in a lecture this Saturday at 2pm at Eugene's main public library titled: GUNS IN AMERICA.

Reed College Humanities Professor Pancho Savery will be the guest speaker.

Savery travels and speaks extensively, and is best known for his highly controversial lecture "BLACK ATHENA", which documents how ancient Greek culture actually had its origins in Africa.

I have a very bad feeling about this lecture. I sense some historical revisionism coming.

This should be an interesting lecture to attend. I've always wanted to learn the TRUTH about guns in America.

For some strange reason the city of Eugene is paying this Professor's expensive lecture fee to travel from Florida to Eugene and give this presentation in the city's main library.

Oddly enough, the City Manager currently is complaining that the city does not have enough money to operate the library, and needs to pass expensive new taxes just to keep it going. So it is most baffling why the city would spend so much money on this lecture, if the library is actually bankrupt??

Something just does not add up here. What could be going on?

.

The Leftist/Marxist/Communist/ Tyrant/Socialist/ View of the 2nd Amendment is worth about as much as that little brown log floating down at the local sewer plant. He should ne neutered about neck level for corrupting the Kids going to school down there though and the residents of this state. This BS, 50 Yrs ago would be considered treason and subversion and 60+ years ago would have gotten him an ally blanket party.
I hope someone with enough talk smarts, (many of them), confronts this POS.

Don't you know that it is being paid out of a swindled slush fund rat holed by the progressive leftist PTB?
(insert sarcasm if not to be believed)......

Reed College? 2nd Amendment? Those two hardly go together in a nice way. I can't imagine this guy will have anything but wrong things to say about the 2nd.

But who knows, maybe I could be wrong

Reed Is farther left than Berkley. It was proud of its communist student horde in the 60's.
What I always thought strange is they have an actual Nuclear reactor on campus.

That is interesting isn't it? I've actually stood in the reactor room during a visit to campus back in my high-school days. I never could figure out why, of all places, they would have one. Except perhaps to train anti-nuclear energy zealots how to go in and shut them down. Crazy place that college.

Yeah, I hate to even admit it, but I received my HS diploma from that place back in the day.
Only place I could do a challenge test then.
