From another thread I hijacked.

I used to work 4.5 months a year in Alaska. Last year was my 9th summer up there. It was a great job. It seemed like more leisure than business.

I was a fly fishing guide at a few different fly-out lodges in the Bristol Bay area. We flew from the Wood-Tikchik State Park all the way down to the Illiamna area. After the season was over I would spend a long weekend in Anchorage. If that place didn't have winters, it would be a great place for me to live. I tried living in Sitka for two years, but I think I was too young to fully appreciate and utilize the the vast open spaces there.

This thread has now been hijacked!

Very cool. I asked because I grew up in Anchorage. Still go back once or twice a year to see family/friends. Did a little time in Bristol setnetting and drifting.

Many good times. Gotta head out for a meeting, but I'll be back.
