Replace the ACOG with some kind of red dot and like another said, mount the fore grip further forward. I think the rails offer function to put lights or lasers on your weapon and the stock gives you length of pull adjustment. Nicer pistol grip is fine though I've never been picky about them. If it is more comfortable, more accurate, or more reliable than the stock configuration, then do it. Even if it just makes your shooting experience more enjoyable then do it, because if you enjoy it you'll shoot more and be better at it. To be honest, most of my guns are just range toys.
