What a propogandist piece of garbage. I would bet my next year's income that most or all of those police officials interviewed gave a root cause answer that was conveniently omitted due to it clashed with ABC's political bias.

Look at previous years compared to now, list what changed. Where are the sheep and cows bleating and mooing, "follooooow the sci-i-i-i-ence"?

If the people as a majority don't start demanding change, I hope it doubles next year. Not that I wish death upon anyone, but stupidity has to have a steep price.

Stupidity should be painful. A LOT of the problems we have now is too often there is no pain felt for the stupid choices people make. Maybe if more of them feel some pain they will re think those kind of choices before its too late.

Experts say there are a number of reasons possibly connected to the jump in homicides, including strained law enforcement staffing, a pronounced decline in arrests and continuing hardships from the pandemic, but that there is no clear answer across the board.

Hmmm...and yet these cities do all share one thing in common. Can anyone guess what that might be?

Anyone?

The leaders of these cities all belong to the same political party. Would anyone like go guess which party that is?

Anyone?

I'm sure it's all just a kowinky-dink. :rolleyes:

This ABC News story is obviously an "ain't it awful" report intended to further beat the anti-gun drum, but the real significance can be found in what they didn't mention:

Every single one of the twelve record-setting cities have - for years - been in the grips of administrations that are "soft on crime & criminals" as a matter of social policy. Furthermore, each of the other cities referenced in that article (all with alarming stats that haven't quite topped a previous record) also suffer from the same "soft on crime & criminals" policies.

-BELOW IS WHAT MY ON-LINE RESEARCH GATHERED ABOUT THE PRESENT & PAST ADMINISTRATIONS OF EACH OF THESE CITIES --------
No Political judgement intended in this; nothing but the facts, and let the
facts speak for themselves.

ABC's CRAZY TWELVE CITIES ( * )

* PHILADELPHIA, PA 501 homicides, UP 13% FROM 2020, WHICH TOPPED THE RECORD SINCE 1990
The incumbent mayor is Jim Kenney, a member of the Democratic Party as have been all Philadelphia mayors since 1952 .
* ST PAUL, MN 36, HIGHEST SINCE 2020
The incumbent mayor has Democrat-Farm Labor affiliation. Since 1926, only three Republicans have held that office (one of whom actually ran as a Democrat to win his first term in office). In that same period, the past mayors have had Democrat-Farm Labor affiliation except four who claimed Independent or Farm Labor.
* PORTLAND, OR 72, HIGHEST SINCE 1967
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. No Republican has been elected as mayor since Fred L. Peterson in 1952, nor has a Republican been appointed interim mayor since 1979 when Connie McCready held that post for one year.
* TUCSON, AZ 80, HIGHEST SINCE 2008
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. Since at least 1947, only four Republicans have held that office; all of the others have been Democrats.
* TOLEDO, OH 62, HIGHEST SINCE 2020
Toledo's incumbent mayor is a Democrat. No republican has held the office of mayor since 1989.
* COLUMBUS, OH 179, HIGHEST SINCE 2020
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. The last Republican mayor left office Jan 1, 2000.
* BATON ROUGE, LA 137, HIGHEST SINCE 2020
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. The last Republican mayor left office in 2005 and was only the second Republican mayor since 1876 (the other "Republican" mayor was actually a Democrat when elected, and only changed affiliation 6 years later).
* AUSTIN, TX 60, HIGHEST SINCE 1964
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. The last Replublicn mayor left office in 1991.
* ROCHESTER, NY 71, HIGHEST SINCE 1990
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. The last Republican mayor left office in 1973
* ALBUQUERQUE, NM 82, HIGHEST SINCE 2019, BROKE ITS RECORD ALREADY IN AUGUST
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. Only one Republican has served as mayor since 1985.
* LOUISVILLE, KY 175, HIGHEST SINCE 2020
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. Only two Republicans have served as mayor since 1933.
* INDIANAPOLIS, IN 246, HIGHEST SINCE 2020
The incumbent is a Democrat. Only three of fifteen mayors elected since 1927 have been Republicans.

AND NOW FOR THE OTHER CITIES MENTIONED IN THE ABC NEWS ARTICLE
NEW YORK, NY
443 homicides AS OF DEC 6th
The Incumbent mayor is a Democrat. Eleven of the last 15 mayors since 1917 have been Democrats. Three of the four (nominally) Republican mayors seemingly changed their affiliation as often as they changed their socks; only one (Giuliani) continually claimed Republican affiliation.
CHICAGO, IL 739, ALREADY UP 3% FROM 2020
The citizens of Chicago have not elected a Republican mayor since 1927
LOS ANGLES, CA 352, AS OF NOV 27TH
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. Democrats have served all but two of the 15 mayoral terms since 1961.
MILWAUKEE, WI 178 homicides, 12 short of a new record set in 2020
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. The last Republican mayor left office in 1908. All mayors since then have been Democrats or Socialists.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN 91, just six shy of their 1995 record.
The incumbent mayor is a member of the Democrat-Farm Labor party. The single Republican mayor since 1961 served just four years, leaving office in 1973. Since then, all but one of the mayors have had Democrat-Farm Labor affiliation (a claimed Independent served just one year in that period).
OAKLAND, CA AT LEAST 127 SO FAR THIS YEAR, UP FROM 102 IN ALL OF 2020
The incumbent mayor is a Democrat. The last Republican mayor left office in 1977.

If they want to be that f'n stupid let them burn, shot the rats as they jump ship. I've been to the majority of those cities and would live in any of them. Kind of surprised Washington DC isn't a front runner.

All those cities have the main ingredients in common, as called out, soft on crime policies, soft on criminals policies and democrat chokehold on those cities for decades upon decades…

Folks if you really want change, vote for candidates that represent the other major party…. You might be pleasantly surprised at how things change. Remember, elections have consequences…

Let's go Brandon!!!!
