Nothing you've linked here gives any credence to the claim that we are living in a "police state". Read the thread, we've been talking about a "police state", yet you quote studies about the rich guiding the decisions. That doesn't make us a police state. Go back and read the definition of "police state" - it doesn't say a thing about oligarchy or the rich. Your link #3 provides no proof, yet you draw a conclusion that isn't demonstrated by the information you provide.
As for the last link, what's your point? That some people are misinformed? Because that's not what the Dunning-Kruger Effect is about - that's about incompetence which is simply the inability to do something successfully. If you are suggesting that people here are living in a police state yet aren't aware of it - that just doesn't fly, and it hardly fits with the D-K effect. Look at people that really live in police states around the world - people that have limited or no freedoms - they certainly don't own any guns - and they don't have the right to vote - unless of course they vote the way they're told to at the end of the barrel of a gun - those people, regardless of how intelligent they may be, certainly are under no illusion that they live in a police state.
You can go back and read what I've already posted in this thread (so I don't have to type it again). Please explain to me how the fact that more and more states are making it easier for people to own and carry guns, could be happening in a true police state. Police states start by the disarming of their citizens. And while there are some doing their best to restrict those rights here, they are a LONG way from actually disarming us.

Actually, I didn't make any 'claims', just stated what I know based on the information presented so far. I remain open to hearing more, if it can really be substantiated.

I stand by what I said. When I can get some real evidence that we are in a "police state", as previously defined, then maybe I'll be convinced. Angry assertions, rants or claims based on evidence that borders on conspiracy theory and nothing more really doesn't amount to real evidence for those that want to make an informed decision.
All I've seen so far are some areas of this country that need to be addressed. Does my vote really not count for anything? Funny, seems to me it counts in plenty of elections.
My only question will be this (then I'm done responding as I'm not going down this road) - if we're in a police state and it's so bad, why are you still here? Why haven't you moved on somewhere else if all is lost? It always surprises me when some people claim they are the only ones that are truly "informed" and all the rest of us are just idiots. That's where I end the discussion.

2) a one way ticket to any other country of their choice with a stipulation that you are never allowed to return to America, period!!!

The media keeps saying that a lot of outsiders are causing the trouble and I'm sure that's true. But he was a local. I'm sure there's plenty of good people in Ferguson and I feel sorry for them. They should report the looters they know.
