The brown precision poundR is a much more expensive stock than the mcmillan. Mitigates recoil better too. Finishes out a little more than a pound.
What did it run you, looks like they are in the $750 range?

I am only $500 deep into the rifle and with a new firing pin and trigger it should put me at about $650.
 
My hope was to use this gun as a woods gun for hunting the westside. With the close shots of the westside I had been thinking low power optic, but it sounds like the long action will make a shorter low power scope tuff.

any idea as to if the skinner peep would fit a pre 64 or should i just call skinner?
