I imagine the performance is similar to that of pistols

Maybe look at data from a Ruger Charger?

No data here, but also check out Keltec PLR-22. No experience with the PLR-22, but all of the reviews I found said that it's a loud for a 22LR.

Smith and Wesson 15-22p just find one of those and a rifle version, register the rifle lower as a SBR and 2 pin changes later your good to go. My 15-22p is pretty accurate, 6" barrel but it has 12"+ sight plane.. would be fun to have a stock on it but all in all it would simply be expensive and a bit useless.
