Here's some guys dickin around with Red Dot.. it was the first hit using "red dot powder .223 subsonic" search.Hi all - I have a suppressed .223 boltie that I want to experiment with. Does anyone have any subsonic recipes?
I currently have 75g ELDs and 50g HPs but will acquire others. All input gladly accepted. Thanks.
OK. I am new at this. Why not?I have to ask.......
why?
Seems as mentioned, a .22LR would get you close to the same thing for a lot less $$. Also, the 300 BLK will give you a lot more punch subsonic than the .22lr or .223?OK. I am new at this. Why not?
I get your point. I have a 300, but a suppressor for a 223. Trying to make the best use of what I have. Thanks for the input.Seems as mentioned, a .22LR would get you close to the same thing for a lot less $$. Also, the 300 BLK will give you a lot more punch subsonic than the .22lr or .223?
Thanks. That will give me something to study.223 & Blue Dot - 24hourcampfire I shot some blue dot yesterday. 5gr under a 34gr nosler fbhp. It's running at about .22 LR velocity and it isn't as loud as a .22LR. There is one sub-sonic load in this data but this will give you something to play with if you care to.
Agree, but kudos to the OP for learning and experimenting since he already has the rifle.Seems as mentioned, a .22LR would get you close to the same thing for a lot less $$. Also, the 300 BLK will give you a lot more punch subsonic than the .22lr or .223?
In the end, all that matters is that you do want interests you, and keep all of your body parts intact!I get your point. I have a 300, but a suppressor for a 223. Trying to make the best use of what I have. Thanks for the input.
Zactly. Decades ago, a company whose name I forget made 22LR chamber adapters. Used to see them in the Shotgun News and other publications..223 subsonic not much different than .22 rimfire subsonic
Still do, I have a couple, CMMK (?) maybe? Searching ...Zactly. Decades ago, a company whose name I forget made 22LR chamber adapters. Used to see them in the Shotgun News and other publications.
These were in the form of chambered and rifled snap caps. Don't remember how they handled the firing pin, but any .224 bore could use them, and they were cartridge specific. Isn't CMMG mostly AR stuff?Still do, I have a couple, CMMK (?) maybe? Searching ...

Here's a thought, it eliminates the need for yet another rifle. Also it might be fun to cast your own for that caliber the low velocity would make it super easy with straight range scrap and powder coating. You could still take the kids out plinking during the next shortage. And the next...I have to ask.......
why?
