Aloha, Mark

Yeah, if I still had 18 to 20 year olds, I would hand them a wad of cash and drive them to Dicks or Wallmart myself. This is going to be hilarious to watch the left trip over themselves to try to explain how refusing a sale of a wedding cake to a gay couple is discrimination but refusing sale of a legal by state law long gun to a 20 year old is not. o_O:D

Note the aiding and abetting section related to this section prohibiting age discrimination. So employees and managers who refuse to sell are also in violation? SWEET!

Think I'll grab some popcorn and watch the fireworks begin!

The applicable Federal law. Looks like if there is no local/state law setting a higher minimum, then
18/21 should prevail. We should probably all be thankful that the recent "short session" of
the Oregon legislature wasn't a week longer.

Does a customer have to be a certain age to buy firearms or ammunition from a licensee?
Yes. Under the Gun Control Act (GCA), shotguns and rifles, and ammunition for shotguns or rifles may be sold only to individuals 18 years of age or older. All firearms other than shotguns and rifles, and all ammunition other than ammunition for shotguns or rifles may be sold only to individuals 21 years of age or older. Licensees are bound by the minimum age requirements established by the GCA regardless of State or local law. However, if State law or local ordinances establish a higher minimum age for the purchase or disposition of firearms, the licensee must observe the higher age requirement.

Hope these lawsuits become national news and I hope they are won by the plaintiffs...

A victory against the sellers for age discrimination should sufficiently take the air out of the leftists sails.

So the above quoted federal code states local govs can set higher limits for firearms (note the wording for ammo is absent). So shouldn't someone with the State of Oregon be prosecuting Dicks and Wal-Mart like they did the bakers? Otherwise there is an equal protection issue.

Not that jaded. Jewish ALCU lawyers have represented Nazi's in several first amendment fights. Cats and dogs living together.

I think a company would shrink from a protracted fight that would hurt its bottom line.

You'd think that making sporting good's customers mad would hurt it's bottom line. I certainly havent set foot in one of their stores since 2012.

This actually challenges several points. Where the cake thing was/is a big deal, denying one his 2nd rights is a whole nother level. Assuming this 20 year old isn't prohibited, this should be a slam dunk! Then there is the seporate age discrimination issue, and I can see a few other charges if the law team is really up on its game!:D:D:D

I don't think I've actually been to one of their stores. The Sears catalog evolved to online shopping. I support my LGS for transfers and I got a Walmart 10/22, everything else can show up in bulk delivered to my door.

When ACLU first started, I had a legal issue, I went there, told the story and got laughed by the entire staff.

Was told "your not Black enough to take your case"

Already becoming national news - I've seen several conservative outlets pick it up on Twitter already.

I'd like to see them add Bi-Mart and Fred Meyer to the list too - make them all feel the pain of their 'emotional' decision.
