Poll: 1945 75 mm French ww2 case should I cut it down?

Please remove if not allowed or in wrong place. I acquired a empty 1945 WW2 75mm French cannon case from scrap yard yesterday I plan on making it in to a windchime. The primer is popped out so I can make it without drilling or modifying the case but I was thinking of cutting off about 6in off it . Question is should I cut it down?

If it is something you'll keep around, Id say yes. Especially if the project turns out well.
As cool as an original 75mm case is on its own.. its just kind of a thing that takes up space. Might as well repurpose it. Just post pics when its done.

I will try to get some pics of it up today. I plan on doing a steam punk kinda chime with it utilizing part of a fan clutch maybe some syncro gears copper pipe and some 50 cal bmg brass
