Figured others would find this interesting. (I did a study of this topic over the years and found the Axis Powers, the Germans in particular, used a lot of captured small arms. A tangential study on the Volkssturm featured similar; a dizzying array of arms from all over the world.)

The Germans used a lot of captured everything from French tanks to B-17s to Hi-Power pistols. The Wehrmacht that invaded Russia in 1941 still relied heavily on horses and mules. It wasn't until Albert Speer came around that they significantly increased their industrial output, but by the then the tide of the war had turned irrevocably against them.

The Panther tanks, V-Weapons, Me262, Stg.44 etc.. all that stuff didn't come out until 1943 post-Moscow, post-Stalingrad, post-North Africa.

A number of firearms used by nazi Germany were made during the occupation of the countries from which they originated. The GP35 from occupied Belgium and the VIS from occupied Poland. Also the long arms were made by Czechs, too.

It's an interesting story, Albert Speer was Hitler's architect before he was a put in power.
