A crossfire (also known as interlocking fire) is a military term for the siting of weapons (often automatic weapons such as assault rifles or sub-machine guns) so that their arcs of fire overlap. This tactic came to prominence in World War I.
Siting weapons this way is an example of the application of the defensive principle of mutual support. The advantage of siting weapons that mutually support one another is that it is difficult for an attacker to find a covered approach to any one defensive position.Use of armour, air support, indirect fire support, and stealth are tactics that may be used to assault a defensive position. However, when combined with land mines, snipers, barbed wire, and air cover, crossfire became a difficult tactic to counter in the early 20th century.
I have two vortex scopes up for sale/trade.
1. Vortex Viper hs 4-16x44. Scope has been hunted hard but has been well taken care of. It has rub marks from being carried on the housing (see pictures), other than that is super clean. The glass is clear and in very good condition with no scratches...
This is a new model Crossfire II that is in very good condition. Comes with original caps and box (not pictured). There is nothing wrong at all, I just simply don't need it anymore.
I can ship, or meet for delivery.
Focuscamera through ebay has some vortex cf-4302 10x42 binoculars for 90 bucks. They are currently 150 on amazon. Seems like a good price. I don't have these so cant comment on quality.
Vortex Optics CF-4302 Crossfire 10x42 Binocular 875874005808 | eBay
Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x44mm with MK throw lever and 1 inch rings.
Scope was mounted and saw one range trip to zero. It is in excellent condition. I bought scope with more magnification so this can go.
